The new A24 movie Dream Scenario starring Nicolas Cage will open the Toronto International Film Festival Platform competition program.
“This surrealist satire-comedy has sharp, timely observations about social media culture — especially going viral — and its impact on the way that we interact with others in our day-to-day life. Cage delivers some of his finest work,” says Robyn Citizen, director, programming & platform lead at TIFF.
“A schlubby professor who never made it becomes an overnight celebrity after appearing in everyone’s dream,” reads the synopsis.
The Platform competition will also feature movies like Dear Jassi, Great Absence, I Told You So, The King Tide, Not a Word, The Rye Horn, Sisterhood, Shame on Dry Land, and Spirit of Ecstasy.
