The WWE Universe was abuzz as CM Punk made an unexpected appearance in NXT Deadline, which raised questions about his potential future with the black and gold brand. CM Punk made an unexpected backstage appearance at the WWE Performance Center during the December 12 edition of WWE NXT. Punk’s presence at the Performance Center and backstage at NXT sparked speculations about his role within the organization.
Initial reports suggested that CM Punk might step into a leadership role at the Performance Center, potentially filling the shoes of WWE Hall of FAMER Shawn Michaels. However, these reports were shut down, as Fightful Select clarified that Punk’s involvement would not be a regular occurrence.
According to Nick Hausman’s insights on the Rumor and Innuendo podcast, CM Punk won’t be a permanent fixture at the Performance Center. While there was a fleeting rumor about Punk aiming to succeed Michaels, Hausman stated he sent a text to Punk’s camp, which got a response in the form of a laughing emoji, dismissing the idea.
Despite not assuming a regular role, Punk’s presence backstage was undoubtedly a significant treat for the upcoming talents in NXT. Sources revealed that Punk was at the Performance Center for workouts and possibly some medical matters.
Only time will tell whether CM Punk is gearing up for an in-ring return to the black and gold brand.
