Zach Woods is joining Hugh Laurie in HBO’s Avenue 5, a space comedy from Veep creator Armando Iannucci, according to The Wrap.

The actor will play a character called Matt Spencer, a nihilist itching to secure a more prominent role on Earth — something he will get once his final cruise ends. According to the report, the character also possesses “a performance background, but gave up trying to make it as an entertainer years ago.”
Woods had a brief role on Veep as a character named Ed Webster, but has spent a majority of his time on HBO’s tech comedy Silicon Valley.

Not much is known about Avenue 5, other than it’s “a comedy set in the future, mostly in space,” and that the show takes place aboard a space cruise ship captained by Laurie’s character Ryan Clark. Rebecca Frost also stars as one of the passengers.
