On the heels of yesterday’s update regarding the big screen version of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, comes word, via Variety, that Michael Bay is planning on developing Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon as a feature film.
The game series, which launched in 2001 and took place in the then-future of 2008, follows a US Army Special Forces team called Ghosts.
The game series has spawned more than a dozen expansions and sequels, taking the story all the way through 2024 in last year’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
Bay will develop the property at Warner Bros. Pictures, marking his first time working with the studio. Although nothing is confirmed at this time, it is suggested that Bay may direct the film following his upcoming Transformers 4.
