Somebody must have invoked the name of the Scottish play in the theater. According to Deadline, A24’s Macbeth has become the latest film to go on hiatus due to the coronavirus. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long for this one as it was shaping up to be a doozy — Denzel Washington + Frances McDormand + Joel Coen + Shakespeare? That’s an amazing team right there.

The iconic Shakespeare tale follows a lord (Washington) who’s convinced by a trio of witches that he’s destined to become the king of Scotland. With the help of his ambitious wife (Frances McDormand), Macbeth tries to seize the crown by any means necessary.
The adaptation also stars Emmy-winner Brendan Gleeson as King Duncan and Corey Hawkins as Macduff and Harry Melling as Malcolm.
