Spectrum Delays L.A.’s Finest Season 2 Premiere

According to TVLine, Spectrum Network has officially delayed the premiere of the upcoming second season of L.A.’s Finest. Originally scheduled to make its return today through Spectrum’s on-demand service, the Bad Boys spinoff series has been pushed to an unknown later date this year. The sudden premiere delay comes on the heels of the ongoing protests against racial injustices and police brutality following the unlawful deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor.

In L.A.’s Finest, Syd Burnett (Gabrielle Union)—last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel—has seemingly left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. Now partnered with Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), a working mom with an equally complex history, Syd is forced to confront how much her unapologetic lifestyle may be masking a greater personal secret. Taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles while skirting the rules (and speed limits), Syd and McKenna become a force to be reckoned with—on the streets, and in each other’s lives.

Season 2 continues with Syd as she mourns the sudden loss of a friend and struggles to find answers, while McKenna (Jessica Alba) must deal with the aftermath of Izzy’s kidnapping and the rift it has left in her marriage. But when a powerful crime wave in Koreatown threatens to destroy the community, Syd, McKenna and the team must find those responsible before it’s too late.

The series also includes Ernie Hudson as Joseph Burnett, Zack Gilford as Ben Walker, Duane Martin as Ben Baines, and Ryan McPartlin as Patrick McKenna.
