NBC has released the full trailer for creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s upcoming comedy series titled Mr. Mayor, featuring Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor Ted Danson as his character enters politics to become the mayor of Los Angeles. Also starring Oscar winner Holly Hunter, the sitcom is scheduled to make its debut on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Check out the video in the player below!

Mr. Mayor follows a retired businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles to prove he’s “still got it.” Once he wins, he has to figure out what he stands for, gain the respect of his biggest critic and connect with his teenage daughter, all while trying to get anything right for America’s second weirdest city.
The series will star Ted Danson (Cheers, The Good Place), Holly Hunter (The Piano, The Firm), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), Vella Lovell (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Kyla Kenedy (The Walking Dead).

Mr. Mayor is written and created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock (30 Rock). It is executive produced by Fey, Carlock, Jeff Richmond and David Miner. The project was originally meant as a spin-off to 30 Rock with Alec Baldwin reprising the role of Jack Donaghy. However, Baldwin had decided to exit the series and was then rewritten to be set in Los Angeles instead of New York City.
