A mysterious new adventure thriller has been acquired by Paramount Pictures, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed today. Michael Bay is attached through his Platinum Dunes as one of the producers (alongside Andrew Form and Brad Fuller) with the trade suggesting that Bay might wind up directing as well.
Details on the film’s plot are virtually nil, although the trade notes that the storyline is grounded in realistic science and that part of the adventure takes place under the sea.
Robbie Thompson and Tom Wheeler, who previously worked together on the short-lived NBC superhero series “The Cape,” are attached to provide the screenplay with the latter also signed on to produce.
Bay’s latest, Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters June 27.
