In a blog post, the developers announced that the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions of the game will launch on May 25, 2021. The upgraded versions will be free to all current owners of the game and will allow players to experience some of the boosted performance options of the newer consoles. If you don’t own it already, the new versions will retail for $39.99 (although copies of the last-gen version are even cheaper).
Saints Row: The Third Remastered launched on May 22, 2020, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Since the new consoles are out and about (even if you can’t find them in stock), players can take advantage of a new way to play. Improvements to the Xbox Series X and PS5 version of the remaster include a frame rate boost to 60 FPS and dynamic 4K resolution, with Xbox Series S can choose between a performance (60 FPS) and beauty (30 FPS) mode. It essentially matches the PC version’s Ultra settings.
