PlayStation Now is about to get a big dose of the Wild West and the far East. While not a total surprise to some given the recent leak, Sony’s streaming and downloadable subscription is getting a ton of new games on July 6 including Red Dead Redemption 2, Nioh 2, God of War, Moving Out, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Judgment, and Nascar Heat 5. However, some are leaving at specific dates and Rockstar’s cowboy epic is a first for PS Now in an unexpected way.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is PlayStation Now’s first download-only title. Previously, users could only stream games to their console. Sony then added the ability to download PS4 and PS2 games locally in 2018, forgoing the streaming necessity. Coincidentally, this decision happened just about a month before Red Dead Redemption 2 originally released in October 2018. The game will be on PlayStation Now until November 1.

Nioh 2 is the other big headliner. Team Ninja’s more action-focused Soulslike from 2020 released to rave reviews and eventually got three expansions and a PS5 remaster. However, it seems as though this is just the base version of the PS4 original so don’t expect the DLC or PS5-specific features like obscenely fast loading. The PS4 version, however, does let users unlock the frame rate while running at 4K, making it one of the title that runs incredibly well on PS5’s backwards compatibility.
Sony’s God of War reboot from 2018 is also joining the service. Kratos’ well-regarded journey to spread some valuable ashes takes him and his son Atreus to multiple realms. This game also got some PS5 improvements, as it also runs at 4K at 60 frames per second on Sony’s new console.

Judgment is the last big title of the month. This action game is Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Yakuza spin-off that sees players take the role as private detective Takayuki Yagami as he tries to do his job in mean and quirky streets of Kamurocho. This isn’t the PS5-specific version that released after the original. Also, the game leaves PS Now on October 4.
Moving Out is for fans of Overcooked or other frantic co-op games. One to four players must move a whole host of furniture to a moving truck before time runs out and what starts out as a simple moving tasks ends up going to some bizarre places.
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and Nascar Heat are the final two titles and are video games based on their specific events.
