Venom: Let There Be Carnage has once again been delayed by Sony.
This is yet another setback for the film, which has been delayed several times due to COVID-19, and it will now release on October 15. It previously was set to release a few weeks earlier on September 24. The comic book sequel once again stars Tom Hardy, who will play Eddie Brock/Venom. It will release later this year exclusively in theaters against Halloween Kills and The Last Duel.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage also stars Michelle Williams (The Greatest Showman) as love interest Anne Weying, and battling Woody Harrelson’s maniacal Cletus Kasady, who is the film’s villain, Carnage. Oscar nominee Naomie Harris (No Time to Die) co-stars and is rumored to play the villain Shriek, Carnage’s love interest, and accomplice.
Andy Serkis will be directing the film. Serkis previously directed Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, which was released on Netflix in 2018, the TV movie The Ruins of Empires, and the drama Breathe starring Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy. The actor has plenty of experience with Marvel properties, having appeared in the films Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther, in which he portrayed the villain Ulysses Klaue.

The first film amassed an enormous $855 million worldwide during its box office run.
