Sony only released its black DualSense controller and now it has a black headset to go along with it. The hardware maker announced on Wednesday that the latest Midnight Black color for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5’s Pulse 3D headset would be available next month for $99.99. It might not be at every retailer on the same day, but Sony’s official online store lists October 22 as the release date.

For those that haven’t been a fan of the PlayStation 5’s white aesthetic, this serves as a nice complement to the aforementioned black DualSense controller. Sony showed off this new pairing in the trailer, which is at the bottom of the article.
The Pulse 3D headset is designed specifically to take advantage of the PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, and is tuned to be compatible with the console’s 3D audio functions that aim to give players more realistic sounds while playing. This 3D audio tech is also something Sony improved in the most recent PS5 firmware by letting players control the levels via an equalizer within the Control Center. There are three presets — Standard, Bass Boost, and Shooter — but players can also make their own presets. Users can also now use 3D audio through speakers, too.
