It will also be executive produced by Oscar-winner Mark Johnson, Anne Rice, and Christopher Rice. The project will be part of both Jones and Johnson’s overall deals with AMC Studios.
The story begins in the present day where centuries-old vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac narrates his life to a reporter, starting with when Lestat de Lioncourt turned him into a vampire before going into their life together.
Following the company’s acquisition of the rights of Anne Rice’s book series The Vampire Chronicles and The Lives of the Mayfair Witches, Johnson will reportedly lead AMC’s plans to develop Rice’s collection for television and streaming. AMC’s acquisition deal of the best-selling author’s works encompasses 18 titles between each book series.
