The film is said to be based on a draft by Amy Andelson & Emily Meyer, with Laura Terruso having written the latest script for the film. Jennifer Gigbot and Andrew Panay are producing the film via Ethea Entertainment, with no official director or other cast members confirmed as of now. Not too much is known about the upcoming film, with Deadline noting that the logline for it has been kept under wraps.
The news comes following a big 2021 for Rae, as the TikTok star turned actress signed a multi-picture deal with Netflix after making her acting debut in the streamer’s He’s All That remake. “Getting the opportunity to work with Netflix was such a pinch-me moment and now to be able to continue the relationship is beyond my wildest dreams,” Rae said at the time. “I’m thrilled to be able to collaborate with this incredible team and am excited to develop projects while continuing to strengthen my skills as an actress.”

Due to Rae’s massive popularity (she has over 85 million followers on TikTok) and her recent turn to Hollywood, it isn’t too surprising to see other studios looking to get involved with the actress. According to Deadline, following the success of He’s All That on Netflix, several studios were looking to sign Rae to lead their next projects, but that Fashionista “was exactly the type of movie she wanted to do next.”
