Although the star ultimately revealed nothing solid, eager fans will likely nevertheless get some solid speculation fuel in Andrew Garfield’s comments today to the Toronto Sun. Attending Toronto International Film Festival to promote his new drama 99 Homes, Garfield teased his potential involvement with Drew Godard’s Sinister Six.
“I know more than I’m allowed to say right now,” he said. “I can say I’m really excited about Drew Goddard, who’s going to be writing and directing… [W]hether I’m involved in that or not is kind of immaterial.”
It sound as if Spider-Man — if he is to appear at all — will not play a major part in the villain ensemble, which is set for release on November 11, 2016. The Amazing Spider-Man 3, meanwhile, will follow in 2018.
