When is Evil Dead Rise coming to HBO Max?
Evil Dead Rise was released in theaters on April 21, 2023, though its streaming release date didn’t take place on the same day. However, it will be coming to HBO Max in the future and might make its way onto the streaming service by June 2023.
Warner Bros., Evil Dead Rise’s distributor, previously released its films on HBO Max 45 days after their theatrical release. In 2022, WB confirmed it would now schedule the release of movies via streaming on a case-by-case basis. However, films such as Don’t Worry Darling have still followed the 45-day schedule, so Evil Dead Rise may well do the same.
If it does follow this 45-day pattern, then Evil Dead Rise will make its way onto HBO Max by June 3, 2023. This will be six weeks following its theatrical debut — a sizable gap that horror fans may want to avoid by catching it in theaters while they still can.
Evil Dead Rise has been a big hit for Warner Bros., dominating the box office results alongside The Super Mario Bros. Movie. There has even already been talk of a sequel, with ideas for a follow-up shared by its director.
