While horror buffs have been treated to some epic battles between villains in films like Freddy vs. Jason, Alien vs. Predator, and even Sadako vs. Kayako, there are countless more iconic villains that audiences need to see battle it out.
From classic slashers to modern-day icons, these six sets of horror villains would most likely make for extremely entertaining crossover films as well as brutally epic battles. This list will explore what these films could potentially look like, and which villain would reign over the other.
Pennywise vs. Art the Clown
A killer clown face-off is something that has been needed in the horror genre for a while now. While both Pennywise from It and Art the Clown from Terrifier seem to be demonic, Art is more vicious and brutal while Pennywise enjoys more psychological torture.
A film featuring a battle between Pennywise and Art the Clown could concern the two monstrous beings as the latter kills the victims that the former was slowly hunting. Pennywise is from ancient times, but it’s not clear where Art the Clown comes from at this point in the Terrifier franchise. Pennywise would trap Art the Clown, try to frighten him with hallucinations, and inflict supernatural horrors onto the villain. However, it seems likely that Art the Clown would maim Pennywise so severely with his never-ending supply of weapons that he would ultimately win the battle
The Sawyers vs. The Firefly Family
While Rob Zombie’s Firefly trilogy may be inspired by the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, both the Firefly and Sawyer families could be each other’s match. Both families enjoy torturing and killing innocent people who find themselves near their rural homes, but the Sawyers take it a step further by cannibalizing their victims. It does seem that the Sawyers do kill for food though, while the Firefly family, including Otis, Baby, and Captain Spaulding, just enjoy being sadistic for the fun of it.
Initially, the Sawyer and the Firefly clans could see each other as companions, and even exact terror on unsuspecting victims together. However, the two would eventually grow tired of each other. I believe that while the Firefly family may get the best of the Sawyer family at some points, Leatherface would ultimately slaughter the Firefly clan before his family makes them for dinner.
Pinhead vs. Candyman
Two Clive Barker creations, both Pinhead from Hellraiser and the eponymous Candyman are otherworldly beings that punish the guilty. While Pinhead is a demonic being known as a cenobite, Candyman is a scorned, once-mortal man who came back as a vengeful spirit with a hook for a hand. Pinhead and his fellow cenobites rip people apart with chains, but Candyman is a sinister and all-knowing entity, so it seems likely that both of these iconic horror figures would put up a good fight against each other.
In a hypothetical film featuring Pinhead and Candyman, I could see the cenobites terrorizing a group of young people whom Candyman feels don’t deserve to die. Since Candyman is a fairer horror villain than many others, I think that he would ultimately sacrifice himself to save the innocent, resulting in Pinhead ripping Candyman apart and taking him to hell. But there could always be a sequel.
Ghostface vs. Michael Myers
Michael Myers and Ghostface are two of the most prolific slashers of all time, both appearing in countless films in the Halloween and Scream franchises, respectively. While Ghostface is a different murderous suspect in a costume in each film, Michael Myers is a deranged, almost-superhuman maniac who is a mute killing machine. Seeing these two killers go toe-to-toe would be worth it in order to see the legendary costumes in the same movie.
Since Ghostface taunts people with their signature voice-changer, they would try to get into Michael’s head — but you can’t scare the boogeyman. Michael would ultimately stab Ghostface continuously, defeating whoever decided to don the costume.
Orphan vs. M3gan
Esther, the titular orphan of the 2009 shocker Orphan, would be an interesting match for the villain of Blumhouse’s M3gan because they have a similar stature but are distinctly unique. Esther is a 30-something-year-old woman with hypopituitarism, which stunts her growth. She poses as a child and kills, while M3gan is a murderous robot doll.
A film crossover between the two villains could see Esther moving into a home with a new family following the events of the recent Orphan prequel, but this family has their hands on the robotic M3gan. Esther is maniacal and conniving and would try to mess with M3gan’s wiring. I could see M3gan trying to protect the family she lives with while still partaking in her fair share of carnage. No matter how brutal and ruthless Esther may be, I believe M3gan would ultimately win a battle with the Orphan, possibly by dismembering her with her own hands.
Chucky vs. Leprechaun
Chucky and Leprechaun are some of the most celebrated pint-sized slashers in the horror genre, and a face-off between the two feels inevitable. Chucky, the serial killer-possessed doll from Child’s Play, would most likely want to steal gold from the Leprechaun, resulting in a bloody fight to the death.
It seems likely that Chucky would attack Leprechaun pretty severely, stabbing him and possibly even ending him for a brief second. But Leprechaun is an ancient, supernatural being, and in the end, I propose that Leprechaun would end Chucky in an extravagant, magical way possibly involving explosions.
