The Last Movie Stars is a six-part documentary series on the lives of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. The three main elements are the clips from the actors’ films, archival footage of the family’s own, Zoom appearances by Ethan Hawke, who has also directed the movie, and his actor friends. These figure far more in the movie’s soundtrack than in its on-screen images.
