Starring Jang Dong-Yoon as Kim Baek-Du and Lee Joo-Myoung as Oh Yu-Gyeong, Like Flowers in Sand episode 2 aired on Thursday, December 21, 2023, on Netflix and ENA. The K-drama’s storyline includes a mystery murder case, identity confusion, and a wrestler’s career.
In episode 1, Baek-Du decides to retire after losing a wrestling competition. The premiere episode ends with him meeting Yu-Gyeong and assuming that she is his childhood friend, Oh Du-Sik. Meanwhile, an accident in Geosan County grabs attention.

Like Flowers in Sand episode 2 begins with Baek-Du (Jang Dong-Yoo) becoming persistent in proving that Oh Yu-Gyeong (Lee Joo-Myoung) is Du-Sik. He picks on some of her behavior that resembles his childhood friend.
She seems to keep her personal details to herself. However, the reason why she came to Geosan County shocks Baek-Du. When he visits the Ssireum training center, he sees Yu-Gyeong meeting the wrestling team. She introduces herself, “I’ll be the new general manager of the Geosan-gun Ssireum team. I’m Oh Yu-Gyeong.” While this surprises Baek-Du, he is still confident that she is Du-Sik.
The way she speaks to him and the wrestling move she shows at the center make him believe Yu-Gyeong is his childhood friend. Towards the end, Like Flowers in Sand episode 2 shows an upset Baek-Du after a confrontation about his career with his father. Yu-Gyeong approaches him and tries to talk some sense into him regarding his retirement. This makes him question her real identity once again.
She gets annoyed and asks him not to ask such questions as it will affect her plan. Baek-Du is now convinced that she is Du-Sik and asks her again. Before she can say yes or no, a man interrupts them and calls her, “Honey!” Baek-Du looks shocked, assuming that she is married.
Meanwhile, K-drama Like Flowers in Sand episode 2 also focuses on finding out about the accident that took place in Geosan County. The detectives find out that it was a murder.
