Episode 9 of My Man Is Cupid debuted on Prime Video on Friday, December 28, 2023. Nana and Jang Dong-Yoon star as the lead couple, Oh Baek-Ryun and Cheon Sang-Hyuk, in the romantic fantasy K-drama series. It chronicles the captivating love story between a veterinarian and a cupid.
Viewers have been quite curious to learn what happens in the new ninth episode of My Man Is Cupid after episode 8 ends on such a thrilling note with police officer Jae-Hee pointing a gun at Sang-Hyuk after he was caught in a suspicious moment. Episode 9 showcases Sang-Hyuk trying to hide his real identity from Officer Jae-Hee with several lies. It also displays Sang-Hyuk developing strong feelings for Oh Baek-Ryun.
My Man Is Cupid Episode 9: Sang-Hyuk’s feelings for Oh Baek-Ryun grow
My Man Is Cupid, episode 9, begins right where the previous episode ends. Officer Jae-Hee catches Sang-Hyuk on the rooftop of a building with a huge gun. He uses it to throw his cupid arrows at people to make them fall in love. Jae-Hee is more suspicious now about him as he saw pictures of the inspector who was associated with the missing polka dot girls case. The inspector looks extremely similar to Sang-Hyuk.
However, at that moment, Sang-Hyuk manages to hide his real identity as the cupid by telling him that it was his father and they look almost the same. Later on, the two men sit down for lunch together. There, Sang-Hyuk asks Jae-Hee whether he likes Oh Baek-Ryun or not. Jae-Hee confesses his attraction and feelings for Baek-Ryun. However, when Jae-Hee asks the same question to Sang-Hyuk, he fails to answer it. Jae-Hee calls him a coward for not being able to accept his feelings.
Meanwhile, both Sang-Hyuk and Baek-Ryun keep on thinking about the intense and passionate kiss they shared the previous night. Their feelings for each other are now undeniable and have grown even more. Later that night, when Baek-Ryun meets Sang-Hyuk, she tells him that she does not regret the kiss and that she did it while drunk, as she did not dare to do it in a sober condition.
Sang-Hyuk, Baek-Ryun and Jae-Hee visit Sang-Hyuk’s old place in episode 9
Towards the end of episode 9 of My Man Is Cupid, Baek-Ryun appears at the police station in a dark gothic look and scares everyone. She then brings both Sang-Hyuk and Jae-Hee to the place which she keeps on seeing in her dreams. However, she is not aware of the fact that it is the place which belonged to Sang-Hyuk and it is also where Yoo Jeong-Ah used to live.
Sang-Hyuk is shocked to see Baek-Ryun bringing them to this place. He reveals that it is where he used to live with his father. Then, the three of them enter his home which is now empty. While there, Sang-Hyuk starts to reminiscent about Yoo Jeong-Ah, he also starts to see the similarities between her and Baek-Ryun. He realizes that he has developed strong feelings for her.
He is now scared that a similar tragedy will engulf Baek-Ryun, just like Yoo Jeong-Ah. He knows that whenever he opens his heart to someone it ends with tragedy. Thus, he decides to shoot Baek-Ryun with his cupid arrow to make her fall in love with Officer Jae-Hee. The episode ends with Sang-Hyuk pointing his cupid arrow at the two of them sitting beside one another.
