Our Interpreter has released episodes 16 and 17 on January 16, 2024, on Hunan TV. The drama has a star-studded cast that includes popular actors like Victoria Song and Chen Xingxu. The duo portrays the complicated love story between two ex-lovers—Lin Xi (Victoria Song) and Xiao Yicheng (Chen Xingxu)—who get a second chance at love when they meet eight years after parting ways.
The previous episode saw Cheng Yao (Qiming Fei) inviting Lin Xi to a skateboarding championship. He confesses his feelings for her, but she turns him down and leaves. The latest episode sees him deciding to leave his place, but he is stopped by Tong Xin (Yu Shasha). Meanwhile, Chen Xiao (Chen Yi Jing) decides to make a move on Chen Xingxu, who gets jealous of Cheng Yao spending time with Lin Xi.
Our Interpreter episodes 16-17: Chen Xingxu gets jealous of Qiming Fei
Episode 16 begins with heartbroken Cheng Yao returning to his apartment, but Tong Xin is present there along with Peter. While playing around with the latter, Cheng Yao hurts himself. Not wanting to face Lin Xi, he packs his bags and decides to leave the place. Tong Xin goes after him and persuades him to stay at her place. When Yicheng hears what happened at the skateboarding competition, he gets jealous. He drags Lin Xi to his place and shows her videos on how dangerous skateboarding is.
Meanwhile, a documentary team arrives at Yuyi Technologies to document their everyday life. It turns out that the chief editor of the team, Chen Xiao, is an old friend of Yicheng. She is also interested in him and tries to make Lin Xi jealous. She even arrives at his house with food and invites Lin Xi over. Chen Xiao tries to bring up how she was so close to Yicheng. After Lin Xi leaves, Yicheng politely turns Chen Xiao down, saying that he doesn’t have any feelings for her. He also mentions that even if he doesn’t get to be with Lin Xi, he wouldn’t consider dating Chen Xiao.
Episode 17 begins with Lin Xi’s father asking her how she is going to spend her birthday. The next day is Lin Xi’s birthday, but she decides to spend the day at work. Yuyi Technologies and Huasheng arrange a business outing for their employees. As viewers previously saw, Shasha (Lin Zi Lu) has started to ignore Wei Tian (Wang Sen) after learning he has a girlfriend. Lin Xi notices the tension between them. She also remembers that Shasha had sent her an application to change her department.
The team arrives at an amusement park and participates in various fun activities. Shasha refuses to be on Wei Tian’s team. On the other hand, Lin Xi teams up with Peter. Tong Xin and Yao Cheng team up. Yicheng was absent from the team. But he surprises Lin Xi by suddenly showing up. He takes her to experience various fun activities, and the duo shares some beautiful moments. Shasha and Wei also start to grow closer.
After they return to the hotel, Yicheng surprises Lin Xi by organizing a big party. He also gets her dressed up as a Disney princess, which was her childhood. After cutting the birthday cake, they see a fireworks show with others. Following this, Lin Xi thanks Yicheng for everything he has done for her.
