Samoa Joe Blasts Jon Moxley for Dodging Him

AEW star Samoa Joe has called out Jon Moxley for dodging him for a potential face-off in the ring. After securing the AEW World Championship at Worlds End by defeating MJF, it marked Joe’s inaugural reign. He recently defended his coveted title on Dynamite in a great match against Hook.

Meanwhile, Jon Moxley triumphed over Shingo Takagi at NJPW’s Battle In the Valley, setting the stage for a clash with Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Windy City Riot in Chicago on April 12. The AEW World Champion appears displeased with Moxley choosing to face NJPW stars instead of him.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Samoa Joe applauded Jon Moxley’s choice to pursue the IWGP title while commenting that Moxley prefers challenging champions elsewhere rather than facing him for the AEW World Title.

He said, “Moxley doing that, it doesn’t surprise me at all. If I were Mox, I’d look to take someone else’s belt, too. He wants to fight any other champion in the world but me. There was thought behind what he did. Let’s not deny that.”

He also issued a warning to Moxley, hinting at a potential showdown, stating, “That gets back to the wonder of AEW: it’s a worldwide marketplace. You can compete against champions from around the world, not just hidden in your own pocket dimension where no one else can get it. If Mox wants to parade that belt around the real world’s champion, I’d be more than happy to give him a better perspective on where his championship reign really stands.”

Moxley hasn’t held AEW gold since his defeat to Rey Fenix at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam in September.

AEW star Jon Moxley to wrestle NJPW star Tetsuya Naito

AEW star Jon Moxley, who recently lost a significant match against Eddie Kingston at Worlds End in the Continental Classic Final Match, has not competed in AEW. However, he has been making waves in NJPW.

At Wrestle Kingdom 18, he lost a three-way match to David Finlay. Moxley triumphed over Shingo Takagi in a bloody No DQ match at NJPW’s Battle In the Valley. The 38-year-old gears up to challenge Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Windy City Riot on April 12 in Chicago, IL.

Jon Moxley is making his return this Saturday on AEW Collision. It will be interesting to see whether he calls out Samoa Joe, who appears determined to challenge Moxley.
