Jane Schoenbrun, director of We’re All Going to the World’s Fair and the upcoming A24 production I Saw the TV Glow has revealed details of their next movie in a slightly unusual way.

Schoenbrun polled people on which of their three competing movie ideas they should work on next, offering the choice between a zombie movie, a rock n’ roll biopic, and a slasher movie.
Well, the people spoke and slasher was the choice. Schoenbrun then went on to reveal the title page of the screenplay, and revealed the lengthy title of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.
On name alone it’s an intriguing one. Given Schoenbrun’s unique vision, it’s likely this will be a subversive spin on the slasher genre.
Their current film I Saw the TV Glow has been praised during its Sundance screening. The film follows the story of two teenage outcasts (Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine) who bond over their shared interest and love of a scary television show. However, following the show’s mysterious cancellation, the boundary between what’s real and what’s television begins to blur.
I Saw the TV Glow stars Justice Smith (The Get Down, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Brigette Lundy-Paine (Atypical), Helena Howard (Madeline’s Madeline), indie rock artist Lindsey Jordan (Snail Mail), Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers, Danielle Deadwyler (Station Eleven), and Haley Dahl. It also stars Amber Benson, Ian Foreman, Michael Maronna, Conner O’Malley, Emma Portner, Danny Tamberelli, and King Woman.
A24 and Fruit Tree produce the film, the production banner owned by actress Emma Stone. Schoenbrun wrote the script and directed the project.
There is currently no theatrical release date for I Saw the TV Glow, but it premiered at Sundance on January 18, 2024.
