Check out the Sasquatch Sunset poster below:
What is Sasquatch Sunset about?
“In the misty forests of North America, a family of Sasquatches—possibly the last of their enigmatic kind— embark on an absurdist, epic, hilarious, and ultimately poignant journey over the course of one year. These shaggy and noble giants fight for survival as they find themselves on a collision course with the ever-changing world around them. Starring Riley Keough and Jesse Eisenberg, acclaimed directors David and Nathan Zellner (Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter) bring you the greatest Bigfoot story ever told,” the official synopsis reads.
David Zellner previously told Collider that the script for Sasquatch Sunset contains no actual dialogue; instead, Eisenberg and Keough, who both play hairy humanoids, merely grunt for the entirety of the movie.
“There’s no dialogue. It talks about where they grunt, and it talks about what they’re conveying in the grunts, so it gets very specific on the information they’re conveying,” he said. “But yeah, it’s done through their language.”
With the script coming from David Zellner, Sasquatch Sunset is produced by Nathan, David, Lars Knudsen, David Harrari, Tyler Campellone, George Rush, and Eisenberg. Nathan Zellner also stars in the movie, as does Christophe Zajac-Denek. Beau Is Afraid’s Ari Aster executive produces the film.
Having premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024, Sasquatch Sunset is getting a limited release in the United States on April 12, 2024 from Bleeker Street. It will expand to more theaters the following week.
