The Perfect Candidate (2020) is a drama movie that was nominated for the Golden Lion at the 76th Venice International Film Festival. It’s a story about a young woman who stands in local elections; her family and community have a hard time accepting her as the town’s first female candidate. Haifaa Al-Mansour directed and co-wrote the film with Brad Niemann.
