The cast of Eleanor the Great — the feature directorial debut of iconic actress Scarlett Johansson — has been set, and it features an Oscar-nominated actress.
Variety has reported that the cast of Eleanor the Great will include Oscar-nominated actress June Squibb, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jessica Hecht, and Erin Kellyman. The film, which was written by Tory Kamen, follows the character Eleanor Morgenstein — played by Squibb — who moves back to New York from Florida in order to rebuild her life after her best friend passes away.
In addition to directing, Johansson is set to produce the movie alongside Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn for These Pictures, Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler for Maven Screen Media, and Kara Durrett and Jessamine Burgum for Pinky Promise for Pinky Promise.
Eleanor the Great will receive a theatrical release at a currently unknown date in the future, with Sony Pictures Classics and TriStar Pictures partnering for said release.
