This is going to be a busy week for C-drama fans as many new dramas will premiere on their screens. From modern romance Best Choice Ever to business drama City of the City, there is a long lineup that will keep fans entertained throughout the week. While some dramas will end their journey, some will begin, and others will continue with their weekly releases.
Here is a list of dramas and episodes to watch this week:
1. Best Choice Ever
The upcoming modern C-drama Best Choice Ever will premiere on April 9, 2024. It features popular actors Xu Kai and Yang Zi in the lead roles. The drama tells the story of Mai Cheng Huan (Yang Zi), who proposes to her boyfriend for marriage following her mother’s advice. This leads to her boyfriend dumping him. Mai can not decide between taking control of her own life and relying on her parents. Meanwhile, Mai meets her step-grandmother’s grandson, Yao Zhi Ming (Xu Kai). The two form an unlikely bond.
Best Choice Ever will release a total of 38 episodes, which will be available for streaming on Tencent Video.
2. City of the City
The upcoming business C-drama City of the City will meet viewers on April 9, 2024. It is an adaptation of the novel “Cheng Zhong Zhi Cheng” by Teng Xiao Lan. It tells the story of Tao Wu Ji (Bai Yu Fan), a guy from a small town who works at the lowest level at a bank. But because of his diligence and wit, he catches the attention of the vice president of the branch, Zhao Hui (Yu He Wei), who recruits him for a special project. Just when everything seems to be going smoothly, Zhao Hui gets arrested.
City of the City will release a total of 40 episodes that will be available for streaming on iQIYI and CCTV-1.
3. Live Surgery Room (Ep 6 – 18)
The ongoing medical drama Live Surgery Room will release a total of 13 episodes this week. It will continue to tell the story of a strong bond between two doctors. Zheng Ren (Vin Zhang), who becomes a successful doctor, joins Haicheng Hospital. On the other hand, Su Yun (Dai Xu) is a genius who is fond of Zheng Ren because of his unorthodox methods.
Live Surgery Room will release a total of 28 episodes, which will be available for streaming on Youku and JSTV.
4. Blossoms in Adversity (Ep 15 – 26)
This historical romance C-drama Blossoms in Adversity will release a total of 12 episodes this week. It will continue to tell the story of Hua Zhi (Zhang Jing Yi), who reveals her hidden abilities when her family gets in trouble. She gets a bad reputation, and her once close ones start to fear her. What will happen when she falls in love with someone? She eventually gets back on her feet and also starts to make a name for herself in the business world.
Blossoms in Adversity will be available for streaming on Youku.
Other than these popular dramas, Tencent Video’s A Thousand Lies and a Hundred Plans will also premiere on April 9, 2024. Also, To the Wonder, Sword and Fairy, Hard to Find, Sacrifice for Love, Undercover Affair, and A Hero Without a Name will continue with their weekly run.
