Here’s The Fall Guy’s ending explained featuring spoilers about what happened in the film. Dive into our breakdown and learn about the fates of Tom Ryder, Colt, and Jody, as well as a few exciting cameos.

What happened during The Fall Guy’s ending?

In the action-packed final act, Colt fakes his death and reunites with Jody. Telling her the truth about being framed for murder by Tom Ryder and Gail, Colt and Jody devise a strategy that allows them to finish filming Metalstorm, while also proving Colt’s innocence in the murder of stuntman Henry.

Trapping Tom Ryder in a stunt car, Colt drives it across Metalstorm’s explosive set, while Tom’s hired goons chase after them. Dan and his entire stunt crew intervene to battle the hired guns. Colt on the other hand threatens Tom with a dangerous 250-foot jump, to have him confess.

Right before Colt makes the jump, Tom confesses that he murdered his previous stuntman Henry, and Gail framed Colt for it. The confession gets recorded by Jody’s crew. But Gail sneaks in to get her hands on the tape. She calls in a chopper to escape with the tape and Tom.

But Jody gives Colt a boost to leap onto the chopper with a camera rig car. Using his skills, Colt manages to hold his own against Tom and Gail, grab the tape, and jump off the chopper, performing another stunt. The confession tape exonerates him, while Jody’s Metalstorm finds a new lead in Jason Momoa, who makes a surprising cameo at the end.

Months later, Metalstorm’s trailer is presented at San Diego Comic Con’s Hall H. Colt and Jody get their happy ending as they get to live their dream life together.

Colt starts his own stunt company. Meanwhile, Jody’s directorial future looks bright after getting an ovation at Hall H while presenting Metalstorm’s trailer.

Does Tom Ryder die?

The final scene of the film implies that Tom Ryder died. The initial credits showcase a lot of behind-the-scenes footage. Then, the film’s mid-credits scene reveals what happened with Tom and Gail.

In the aftermath of Colt’s mid-air battle with them, the police arrive and bring their chopper down. Lee Majors and Heather Thomas, who played Colt and Jody in the original series The Fall Guy appear as police officers to arrest them.

While Gail was arrested, Tom tried to run from the scene. However, he ended up on a set lined with explosives, which were detonated. The movie ends with Stephanie Hsu’s Alma Milan also coming to the scene, only to see Tom explode. She immediately calls to get Jason Momoa’s agent online, which results in him replacing Tom on Metalstorm.
