The Conners Season 7 to End Series, Episode Count Revealed

Everyone’s favorite TV family will be returning to our screens once again, but there’s a disappointing catch. The Conners, which recently celebrated its 100th episode, has been renewed for a seventh and final season. However, according to Deadline, Season 7 will wrap things up with only six episodes.

The ABC sitcom’s main cast members are also expected to return for the abbreviated season, including John Goodman (Dan Conner), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie Harris-Goldufski), Sara Gilbert (Darlene Conner-Olinsky), and Lecy Goranson (Becky Conner-Healy).

Showrunner Bruce Helford told Deadline the show’s final episode is both “unexpected” and “emotional.”

“We’ve got a final episode that may be one or the other. We love it,” said Helford.

Apart from the returning cast members, other details about the seventh season remain unknown.

The Conners has enjoyed a fruitful run on ABC

The Conner family first captured the hearts of audiences back in 1988 with the Roseanne Barr-led sitcom, titled Roseanne. It has been one of the longest-running sitcoms and enjoyed its run on ABC until 1997. It has also received a Season 10 renewal over a decade later in 2018, setting up a bright future for the beloved show.

However, the show was unexpectedly canceled after Barr shared racist remarks about Valerie Jarrett, Barack Obama’s former senior adviser, which led to her getting fired from the alphabet network. Fortunately, the network decided to order a spin-off series called The Conners. The sitcom’s premiere revealed that Roseanne died of an opioid overdose.

“After a sudden turn of events, the Conner family is forced to face the daily struggles of life in a way they never have before. This iconic family continues to demonstrate that laughter, conversation and love can overcome anything,” the official synopsis for The Conners reads.

No release date has been set yet for The Conners Season 7.
