The storyline revolves around a 21st-century man, Shin Yoo-Bok (Myung-Soo), who believes in Confucian values and still lives in the Joseon era. But he wants to become a webtoon writer. Dare to Love Me episode 1: Kim Myung-Soo shows off his fighting skills
The episode begins with Kim Hong-Do (Lee Yoo-Young) confessing her love for Shin Yoo-Bok (Kim Myung-Soo). However, it seems Yoo-Bok is in no mood to accept her feelings. She says, ‘I like you,’ and he responds, ‘I’m okay.’ Frustrated, she attacks him with her confessions in different languages. Every time she says ‘I like you’ or ‘I love you,’ he says ‘I’m fine’ as he cannot accept her feelings because she is his teacher. Then, Hong-Do gives a little background description about herself and adds that she has a crush on Yooo-Bok. In the next scene of Dare to Love Me, a group of people are auctioning expensive items in a shady underground area. These people are trying to sell off the items illegally.
Shin Yoo-Bok, who has morals and ethics and believes in preserving the culture of the Joseon era, appears. He talks to them politely and asks them to leave, but when they start cursing him, he shows off his fighting skills. He lands flying punches on their faces and serves kicks, making them weak. As he tries to save the items, it seems he missed out on one of them. In the next scene, Shin Yoo-Bok talks about Seongsan village, where the people keep the traditions and culture of the Joseon era alive. They wear hanbok, talk like the old era, give respect to other people, and maintain dignity.
He then gets into a conversation about last night’s auction raid and declares that a painting is missing. He figures out which way the thief leaves but can’t chase him to the end. On the other hand, Kim Hong-Do faces turmoil at her workplace. The design industry is tough, and Hong-Do gets trampled most of the time by her seniors. How she sticks firmly to her ground with her confidence is shown in the drama.
