Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 may feature the heavy metal band Metallica in Festival and Battle Royale. This revelation comes from closely examining one detail of the new chapter’s key art.
Fortnite Festival may prominently feature Metallica
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked focuses on the post-apocalypse, featuring sandstorms, a Fallout crossover, and vehicles that wouldn’t be too out of place in Mad Max. The recently revealed Wrecked key art showcases some of the new vehicle’s weapons and cosmetics coming to the game. It’s hard to see, but as VideoGamer pointed out, the man on a green dirt bike appears to be wearing a Metallica t-shirt.
At a minimum, this suggests players will likely get access to some Metallica merch as cosmetic items. However, there is a good chance that the band might be the focus of a future Fortnite Festival update. Their song Fuel is part of this week’s Jam Track update, alongside Rob Zombie’s Dragula, Rancid’s Ruby Soho, and The Ramones’ Blitzkrieg Bop.
Notably, Metallica would be the first non-pop featured artists in Fortnite Festival. The current featured artist is Billie Eilish, who has a Skin, Two Emotes, and two Jam Tracks. Past artists/bands include Lady Gaga, Queens of the Stone Age, Weezer, Kendrick Lamar, The Cranberries, and The Weeknd.
However, that doesn’t mean Fortnite Festival is clacking rock and metal. Recent weekly tracks have included bands like Linken Park, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Slipknot, and System of a Down. The rock music and Mad Max vibes in the recent Season 3 trailer also seem like a good fit for Metallica.
