The Ark Season 2 Premiere Release Date Set for Syfy Series

The Ark Season 2 has set its release date at Syfy. The mystery sci-fi show is set to return on Wednesday, June 17 at 10 PM ET. It will also stream on Peacock. As reported by Collider, this confirms the popular drama’s long-awaited return after it was first renewed in April 2023.

What is The Ark about?

The story takes place a hundred years into the future as planetary colonization missions have begun. It’s a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. However, things take a turn when the first of these missions, on a spacecraft known as Ark One, encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life.

Still, with more than a year left before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies, and a loss of leadership, the remaining crew must somehow work together and summon their best selves to complete the mission and survive.

The cast of The Ark Season 2 includes Jelena Stupljanin as Evelyn Maddox, Christie Burke as LT. Sharon Garnet, Reece Ritchie as LT. Spencer Lane, Richard Fleeshman as LT. James Brice, Stacey Read as Alicia Nevins, Diana Bermudez as Kimi Joma, Tiana Upcheva as Eva Markovic, Jadran Malkovich as Dr. Marsh, and Ryan Adams as Angus Medford.

Independence Day writer Dean Devlin and Stargate SG-1 writer-producer Jonathan Glassner serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson of Electric Entertainment also executive produce. Jonathan English of Balkanic Media and Steve Lee serve as producers for the first season.

The Ark made a splash with its debut season, reaching more than 6 million viewers across all platforms according to data from Nielsen. It ranked as one of Syfy’s top originals at the time when taking key demographics into account, standing alongside Resident Alien and Day of the Dead.
