Did Mammootty Use a Stunt Double in Turbo?

Malayalam superstar Mammootty recently returned to the action drama genre with his latest movie, Turbo. It had been a while since fans watched him in massive action sequences as the actor was doing more content-driven movies over commercial ones.

While the film received mixed reviews from the audience, a rumor was going around about the actor using a stunt double for his action scenes. However, all the rumors have been smartly debunked with a new behind-the-scenes video.

Turbo saw Mammootty’s lead character going up against Raj B Shetty’s lead antagonist. The audience appreciated both the lead and antagonist’s performance.

Mammootty debunks rumors of using a stunt double in Turbo

A video featuring Mammootty is going viral on X (formerly Twitter). The clip from the Turbo sets shows the lead star doing his own action sequences. Apart from the fights, his rifle handling has also left netizens impressed. Clad in casual attire, Mammootty did several stunts with extreme energy.

The actor has left everyone in awe of his work because of his age. For the unversed, he is 72 and has been in the film industry for over five decades.

During an interview with The New Minute, Raj B Shetty also clarified how Mammootty played his own stunts. When asked about his experience working with the star, he said, “Mammootty sir and I have a few sequences in which we come face-to-face.”

While shooting the film was intimidating for him at once, the actor revealed how the Bramayugam star made it comfortable for him. “I needed to make my character feel stronger than the other major antagonists of the film, played by actors like Kabir Duhan Singh sir and Sunil sir. And if something like that happens on your very first day of shoot, you do sense a few doubts creeping in. But with the way Mammootty sir treated the situation, I got comfortable pretty fast,” he added.

Mammootty will be next seen in Bazooka.
