Lovely Runner Star Byeon Woo-Seok’s Eclipse Track ‘Sudden Shower’ Enters Billboard Global 200

Lovely Runner‘s OST “Sudden Shower” has recently entered the Billboard Global 200 charts. Sung by Byeon Woo-Seok, the track is part of the fictional band Eclipse’s repertoire in the K-drama. Aside from the series and the cast, fans have praised the band and its songs. Even though they are not a real boy band, they have grabbed attention worldwide.

According to the US Billboard Global 200, “Sudden Shower” has entered the list for the week of June 8, 2024. At the time of writing, the OST is at 199 on the chart. Eclipse’s lead singer, Ryu Sun-Jae (Byeon Woo-Seok), composed and sang the song, dedicating it to his first love. The lyrics explain his love-at-first-sight moment when Sun-Jae first met Im Sol (Kim Hye-Yoon) on a rainy day.

Lovely Runner OST Eclipse song ‘Sudden Shower’ by Byeon Woo-Seok creates history

Lovely Runner OST Eclipse song “Sudden Shower” has created history with its entry on this week’s Billboard Global 200 chart. In the K-drama, Sun-Jae sings the track, and, in reality, actor Byeon Woo-Seok has lent his voice. Although he is not a singer, the actor sang under the guidance of the music director.

In an interview, the actor explained (originally in Korean), “Actually, I don’t think I’m good at it. I recorded while the music director gave me detailed coaching. That part was a big help.” While Sun-Jae is the lead singer in Eclipse, it also includes Lee Seung-Hyub (Baek In-Hyuk), Hyun-Soo (Moon Xion), and Jay (Hyuk).

Apart from “Sudden Shower,” the band’s playlist includes “Run Run,” “You & I,” “No Fate,” and “I’ll Be There.” All five songs also have instrumental versions and are available on various streaming platforms, including Spotify.

Meanwhile, Lovely Runner tells the story of Im Sol, an ardent fan of top star Sun-Jae. After his sudden death, she mysteriously transports herself to the past with the help of a digital watch. The K-drama shows Im Sol traveling through past and future timelines to save Sun-Jae and hope for a happy ending.
