Miss Night and Day’s Lee Jung-Eun and Jo Jung-Suk will appear in the new webtoon-based K-film Zombie Daughter. According to YTN’s news report, the story follows the story of a father who takes refuge in his mother’s house to protect his daughter, who is infected with the zombie virus. The film takes inspiration from the webtoon by writer Lee Yun-Chang. Choi Yu-Ri will also appear alongside the veteran lead actors.
The webtoon gained immense popularity as it mixed the element of a family with zombies, creating a compelling narrative. It won the Korea Creative Content Agency Director’s Award at the 2019 Korea Content Awards. Furthermore, the webtoon was also produced as an EBS animation. It also received the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award at the 2022 Korea Content Awards.

On Thursday, June 20, 2024, news outlet YTN reported that Lee Jung-Eun and Jo Jung-Suk will lead the upcoming project. Zombie Daughter depicts the struggles of a father who protects his daughter, an unfortunate victim of the zombie virus. He seeks his mother’s help to evade the crisis.
Jo Jung-Suk plays the role of Lee Jeong-Hwan, a silly father who tries to turn his zombie daughter into a human. The actor recently appeared in the 2024 K-drama Captivating the King. Besides, he remains well-known for his role in the popular medical drama Hospital Playlist. He will also appear in the upcoming Korean comedy film, Pilot.
Meanwhile, Lee Jung-Eun plays Jeong-Hwan’s mother, Kim Bam-Soon. The actress is currently featured in the JTBC and Netflix K-drama Miss Night and Day. Lastly, Choi Yu-Ri plays the zombie daughter, Lee Soo-Ah. The child actress played memorable roles in Class of Lies, Itaewon Class, and more.
