The Boys Season 4: Does Webweaver Have the Same Powers as Spider-Man?

The Boys Season 4 teased the appearance of Webweaver. A parody of Marvel Comics’ iconic staple Spider-Man, Webweaver and his powers have sparked a following. He has a blink-and-miss cameo in the latest season’s third episode. Webweaver is also shown as a playable character in Vought’s Tournament of Heroes with a brief mention in the fourth episode. As such, fans want to know all about him and whether or not he has powers similar to Spider-Man.

So who is Webweaver? Does he have the same powers as Marvel Comics’ resident wall-crawler? Here are the answers.

Who is Webweaver in The Boys?

Webweaver is a Supe in The Boys universe. However, not much is known about him in the live-action universe as he hasn’t made a full appearance yet in Season 4.

Nevertheless, what is known is that Webweaver is a heroin addict. In The Boys Season 4, Billy Butcher cheekily references Mother’s Milk that he had spent 50,000 dollars on a heroin enema to give to Webweaver. This was in return for the latter’s cooperation in finding some dirt on his fellow Supes, much to MM’s disgust.

Webweaver does have a significant role in the comics. Albeit, a very minor one, as he does not make a full appearance and is merely mentioned. Webweaver is said to be the first superhero to be taken down by Billy Butcher and Greg Mallory. Interestingly, taking him down has been described as “clockwork.” Webweaver’s defeat eventually led to the creation of Butcher and Mallory’s CIA-backed anti-Supe team, The Boys.

Does Webweaver have similar powers to Spider-Man?

Webweaver is implied to have similar powers to Spider-Man.

In the comics, “The Legend,” the publisher of Victory Comics, Vought’s comic publishing house for Supes, calls Webweaver a “thwipster.” Being a thwipster and a parody of Spider-Man, he certainly possesses the same powers as Spider-Man. This includes the power of web generation. But it’s also likely that Webweaver has the proportional strength of a spider and the ability to crawl walls.
