Tony Khan Names Top Star as the Face of AEW’s Network

AEW President Tony Khan, whose roster is packed with top stars like MJF, Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, Chris Jericho, and Adam Copeland. He recently designated former TNT Champion Adam Copeland as the face of AEW’s broadcasting partner, TNT.

Meanwhile, MJF, Omega, Strickland, and Jericho have contributed significantly to the promotion. Each star has held the prestigious AEW World Title. Currently, Swerve Strickland reigns supreme as champion. He will defend his title against Bryan Danielson at the upcoming “All In” pay-per-view event held at Wembley Stadium. Danielson earned this title shot by winning the Owen Hart Tournament last week on Dynamite, defeating Hangman Page.

While established stars like MJF, Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, and Chris Jericho have been instrumental in AEW’s success, former WWE star Adam Copeland has also made a significant impact since his arrival last year at WrestleDream. Copeland, who initially feuded with his long-time friend Christian Cage, ultimately captured the coveted TNT Championship back in March.

Adam Copeland, riding high after capturing the TNT Championship, delivered a string of impressive matches against rising stars like Daniel Garcia and Matt Cardona and established veterans like Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King. However, his momentum came to a screeching halt at AEW Double or Nothing.

Things took a downturn at AEW Double or Nothing when Copeland jumped off the cage during his match, resulting in a broken foot. This injury forced him to relinquish his TNT title. While Copeland is sidelined, Tony Khan continues to praise his recent contributions to All Elite Wrestling.

Tony Khan calls Adam Copeland’s recent run legendary

AEW President Tony Khan recently appeared on SportsGrid, discussing Copeland’s role in the promotion. Khan described Copeland’s recent run with AEW as the greatest of his legendary company career. He stated, “[Copeland] was the TNT Champion, the face of our other network. He arguably has been on the greatest run of his entire legendary career, which is really saying something because he’s had so many great matches, so many great runs.”

Khan continued, “What he’s been doing in AEW is some of the best stuff. I’m really proud of that. He was on this amazing run. Unfortunately, he got injured, and he had to vacate the TNT title, but we’ve had so many great free agents come in just in the past year.”

With Adam Copeland’s return date shrouded in mystery, a new champion has emerged. Jack Perry now holds the vacant TNT Championship. It will be interesting to see if Copeland will pursue the title he never lost upon his return.
