However, Punk cost him twice, costing McIntyre’s attempts to win the title. At WWE Clash at Castle: Scotland, McIntyre’s home turf, and then at Money in the Bank.
WWE teased a match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre for SummerSlam, just two weeks away, on the latest edition of RAW. However, the segment took a turn when McIntyre was asked to apologize to the referee but refused, leading Adam Pearce to remind him that his suspension remains in effect.
Meanwhile, WWE continues to hint at the match between the former champions for SummerSlam. However, CM Punk has yet to receive medical clearance from WWE. Interestingly, he was recently seen at WWE’s Performance Center, which houses training, scientific, and medical facilities for wrestlers.
CM Punk pushing hard to get medically cleared for in-ring return
The latest reports from PWInsider indicated that CM Punk was spotted at WWE’s Performance Center, where he was actively working to obtain medical clearance for his in-ring return from WWE’s medical team. He was also spotted at the Performance Center with WWE NXT stars Cora Jade and Roxxane Perez.
While the reports did not provide any update on whether Punk received clearance from the medical team, recently, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer noted that there is a likelihood that Punk will be prepared to return for SummerSlam. However, it has not been confirmed with certainty that he will receive medical clearance for the show.
Punk, set to appear on the next edition of WWE RAW, has fans wondering whether he will announce his in-ring clearance. Only time will tell what unfolds on RAW.
