K-Pop Comebacks August 2024: Red Velvet, KATSEYE & More Artists

The K-pop industry is ready to welcome several exciting comeback albums in August 2024. The star-studded lineup of artists who will release new albums in August includes Red Velvet, Hyolyn, Xikers, and many more.

2024 has been an exciting year for K-pop fans. Along with popular groups making their comebacks, numerous old K-pop acts are also returning to the music scene this year. KARA would return with the single, “I Do, I Do,” on July 24th. Later, 2NE1 will also reunite ahead of their 15th anniversary.

So, with excitement brewing for an eventful August, this article has a detailed rundown of all the releases that will occupy K-pop charts for the upcoming month.

Red Velvet

SM Entertainment’s award-winning K-pop girl group Red Velvet recently made their 2024 comeback with the release of the album Cosmic. The “Psycho” crooners will gift fans another single to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Red Velvet is making its special comeback on August 1 with the release of the single “Sweet Dreams.” The song will cherish the group’s success in the K-pop industry for the last decade as they start a new career chapter. The new single will be included in the Cosmie versions of their 11th mini album Cosmic, which will drop on the same day.

Astro Yun Sanha

K-pop star Astro’s Yun Sanha will release his first debut album, Dusk, on August 6. As per the teasers of the upcoming album, Dusk will explore Sanha’s dualities through six new songs. The tracklist of Sanha’s Dusk includes:

  • “Fox Star”
  • “Losing My Mind”
  • “Bittersweet Mistake”
  • “Dive”
  • “Bleeding”
  • “Rain Down On Me”

“Fox Star” is Sanha’s composition. Regarding the song, Sanha teased: “Since it’s my first solo album, I was very eager and wanted to include my own compositions. I was comforted by the fox stars that appear and disappear for a moment but remain firmly in that place. I worked with composer Aurorie, who wrote my previous composition ‘Wind,’ and I used warm sounds and lyrics.”

Xikers

KQ Entertainment’s rookie K-pop act Xikers will make their Japanese debut in August with the release of their new single “Tsuki (Lunatic)” on August 7.

The group will return to the music scenes three months after their March release, House of Tricky: Trial and Error.

Fromis_9

Pledis Entertainment’s K-pop girl group Fromis_9 will release their August comeback album Supersonic. The single album will drop on August 12, 2024, at 6 p.m. KST and 5 a.m. ET. Previously, the K-pop octet released their first studio album, Unlock My World, on June 5, 2023.

The group’s first studio album saw major success, selling over 190,594 copies within the first week in South Korea. The popularity also impacted the music charts as Fromis_9 ranked 5th in the Circle Album Chart at the end of the release week.

Hyolyn

Kim Hyo Jung, aka Hyolyn, is all set to make her comeback in August 2024. The Sistar member will release her new song “Wait” on August 12 at 6 p.m. KST and 5 a.m. ET.

Hyolyn released her last single, “This Love,” featuring Paul Blanco in 2023.

KATSEYE

HYBE Labels’ new international act, KATSEYE, will release its first mini album, SIS (Soft Is Strong), on August 16, 2024. The girl group debuted on June 28 with the single “Debut.” The act’s introduction song crossed over 2.4 million views within three days of release.

After a successful debut, fans wait for the group’s first comeback album, SIS, featuring all six members: Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae.

In addition to the aforementioned list, K-pop rising icons IVE will release their Japanese comeback album Alive on August 28. On the other hand, P1Harmony will also release their Japanese album Love & P1ece: The Best of P1Harmony on August 21.
