Major Update on Bobby Lashley & MVP’s Potential WWE Departures

Former members of The Hurt Business, MVP, and former world champion Bobby Lashley are on the verge of leaving WWE. Both have been absent from WWE programming: Lashley due to an injury suffered in May, and MVP was last seen in April managing Omos, who has been underutilized in 2024.

A few days ago, reports emerged that Lashley is expected to leave WWE once his contract expires. Following this news, speculation suggests he might join AEW after his departure. MVP is also rumored to be parting ways with the promotion, potentially joining Lashley. This has fueled rumors of a possible The Hurt Business reunion.

The potential departure of Bobby Lashley and MVP from WWE and arrival at AEW remains unconfirmed. Meanwhile, the news has sent shockwaves through the WWE universe. These two stars played major roles in carrying the WWE during the pandemic era alongside Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. While Benjamin was released last year, Alexander continues to compete in NXT.

Recent reports of Lashley and MVP’s potential exits have further prompted speculation about a departure. WWE’s head of creative Triple H has recently addressed the rumors.

Triple H break silence on Bobby Lashley & MVP’s potential exit from WWE

Since Triple H took over creative in 2022, Bobby Lashley’s role has been significantly diminished compared to his time under Vince McMahon. Lashley’s attempt to form a new faction, The Pride, and MVP was paired with Omos, a partnership that also underwhelmed fans. A few months ago, Lashley also expressed his dissatisfaction on WWE’s The Bump. As a result, the departure of Lashley and MVP seems increasingly likely.

Triple H recently traveled to London with WWE President Nick Khan to meet with Mayor Sadiq Khan about bringing WrestleMania to the city. During a Mail Sport interview, Triple H was asked about the potential departures of Bobby Lashley and MVP. He stated, “No. You know, just like any sport, any business, we sign talent, talents’ contracts run out, we release talent, it’s just part of the process. So it’s an ongoing thing.”

With The Game hinting at their potential departure from WWE, it will be interesting to see where both stars land next.
