What happens in the Killer Heat trailer?
The Killer Heat trailer sees Gordon-Levitt (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Greedy People) playing a private investigator, Nick Bali, who is hired to look into the death of Woodley’s (Ferrari, Dumb Money) character’s brother-in-law. Nick then receives nothing but hostility and cold shoulders when he starts poking around for potential suspects.
“A thrilling, contemporary mystery in classic noir style, Killer Heat follows private eye Nick Bali (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), an American expat in Greece, hired to investigate the supposed accidental death of young shipping magnate Leo Vardakis (Richard Madden) on the island of Crete,” the official synopsis reads. “The victim’s sister-in-law (Shailene Woodley) doesn’t believe the official police report. But what exactly happened to Leo, and why? Despite the sun-drenched beauty of its exotic Mediterranean locale, Nick finds darkness at every turn: where the rich and powerful Vardakis family rule like gods, where jealousies run deep, and anyone could be a suspect.”
The movie is directed by Philippe Lacôte, who previously made 2013’s African Metropolis, 2014’s Run, and 2020’s Night of the Kings. Brad Weston produces the movie, while Tom Karnowski, Nesbø, Niclas Salomonsson, and Collin Creighton serve as executive producers.
The cast of the movie also includes Babou Ceesay (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Clare Holman (Inspector Lewis), and Abbey Lee (Horizon: An American Saga).
Killer Heat will be released on Amazon Prime Video on September 26, 2024.
