The Devil Wears Prada 2 Update Given by Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt has opened up about the potential of The Devil Wears Prada 2, hinting that things could be in motion for a sequel to the 2006 hit film.

What was Emily Blunt’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 update?

Speaking during a recent event at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival (via Deadline), Blunt was asked about a potential sequel and said that she’s heard “rumblings” happening, but didn’t want to say anything specifically.

“There’s rumblings, there’s stuff churning around, but I don’t know if I can confirm anything completely . . . but we would be all delighted to work together again,” said Blunt.

Originally released in 2006, The Devil Wears Prada is a comedy-drama directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna. The film was based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger and followed the story of an aspiring journalist who gets a job at a fashion magazine, but clashes with her demanding and abusive editor.

In the film, Blunt played the role of Emily Charlton, the high-strung senior assistant to editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Alongside Blunt and Streep, The Devil Wears Prada also features an all-star ensemble that includes Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, Simon Baker, and Adrian Grenier.

The film was a massive success upon its release, earning more than $325 million at the global box office. Alongside the film’s box office success, it was also nominated for several awards, with Streep being nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role.
