MaXXXine’s Ti West has been tapped to direct and executive produce a new Amazon Prime Video dark comedy series, Bloodlust, created by Halsey.
West is known for making all three films in the Mia Goth-led X series, which includes 2022’s X, 2022’s Pearl, and 2024’s MaXXXine. Prior to that, he made 2009’s The House of the Devil, 2009’s Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, and 2011’s The Innkeepers, among other titles.
Now, West will be working on a new series called Bloodlust.
What do we know about Ti West and Halsey’s Amazon series Bloodlust?
Plot details for Bloodlust remain under wraps at this time. Pop star Halsey (whose real name is Ashley Frangipane) serves as the show’s creator, writer, and executive producer; however, according to Variety, Halsey will not star in the show. No casting announcements have been made at this time.
Along with West and Halsey, Bloodlust will be executive-produced by Mark Friedman, who also serves as the series’ showrunner, and Halsey’s manager Anthony Li. Amazon MGM Studios will produce.
Halsey and West have worked together before, as Halsey played Maxine’s friend Tabby Martin in MaXXXine, which was released in United States theaters this past summer and is now available to stream on Max.
Halsey has also voiced Wonder Woman in 2018’s Teen Titans Go! To the Movies and Porsha Crystal in 2021’s Sing 2. She played herself in a cameo role in Bradley Cooper’s version of A Star Is Born, which was released in 2018, and also had a role in Tony Tost’s Americana, which premiered at South by Southwest in March 2023 and additionally stars Sydney Sweeney, Paul Walter Hauser, Eric Dane, Simon Rex, Toby Huss, and more.
A premiere date for Bloodlust has not yet been announced by Amazon Prime Video.
