The content creator, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has often been the subject of online comments regarding his smile. Fans claimed that he doesn’t “smile with his eyes” in photos or videos. These remarks eventually led MrBeast to seek medical advice, resulting in a surprising diagnosis: severe astigmatism.
MrBeast recently replied to an X user and explained that he struggled with blurry vision, particularly when looking at objects in the distance. This caused him to squint and led to the appearance of not smiling fully. In a comment on X, he wrote, “Funny story, I get this comment a lot and it’s why I got my eyes examined and I found out I have a severe astigmatism and my vision is horrible. Without contacts I can’t see unless I’m squinting and that’s why my eyes used to look off in photos when I smiled. So thanks to everyone who pointed it out, you helped me realize objects far away are not supposed to be blurry and now I have contacts lol.”
Interestingly, MrBeast is known for his charitable efforts. He previously funded the cataract surgeries of a thousand people who were either blind or close to losing their vision but couldn’t afford the procedure. He even shared a clip of the procedure, showcasing the patients’ reactions after gaining clear vision.
