After much anticipation, The Chosen Season 5 has finally received an official release date from its creator, Dallas Jenkins. Similar to its predecessor, the fifth installment will also make its debut in the theatres before eventually finding its way onto streaming platforms. Additionally, Season 5 will span eight episodes and come out in three parts, similar to the release pattern of the fourth season.
The Chosen Season 5’s first two episodes get a March 2025 release date
Dallas Jenkins revealed that The Chosen Season 5 will have its release on March 27, 2025, with Part 1 coming out on the big screens on the said date. This comes as a welcome surprise for fans of the historical drama, as the fifth edition was previously expected to launch in April 2025.
The renowned film and TV producer also stated that the first part will comprise two episodes. In a recent Season 5 sneak peek live stream, Jenkins revealed The Chosen Season 5’s release date. He stated, “We’re calling it ‘The Chosen: The Last Supper.’ And, we’re releasing it in theaters in three parts. The first two episodes will come out together, then episodes 3, 4, and 5, and then 6, 7, 8. So Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.”
Jenkins then highlighted another difference in The Chosen Season 5 from its previous installment, other than its release date. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever director disclosed that episodes in the upcoming edition will be much shorter than the ones in Season 4, with each part ranking in “under three hours.” The much-awaited fifth season will also cover several biblical events, including the Last Supper.
The Chosen follows the inspiring life of Jesus Christ as well as his close associates.
