Starting in January 2025, YouTube TV subscribers will see a price increase. The streaming platform has announced changes to its monthly subscription fees, reflecting adjustments in service offerings. This move comes amid ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of its content and features. Now, many users are curious about the new YouTube TV price for 2025.
In this article, we will delve into the details about the YouTube TV price increase for 2025.
What is the new YouTube TV price for 2025?
YouTube TV will increase its subscription price in January 2025. The Base Plan will rise from $72.99 to $82.99 per month. The $10 increase, effective from January 13, 2025, reflects the rising costs of content acquisition and YouTube TV’s ongoing investment in enhancing its service quality. The price change will apply to the first billing cycle after the new year. However, the existing promotional and trial offers will continue to remain intact for the full duration of their terms.
Subscribers can review and adjust their plans through the “Membership” section in their account settings. YouTube TV continues to highlight the value of these offerings to justify the price hike. While the increase may raise concerns among some users, YouTube TV assures customers that the added cost is necessary to maintain the service’s quality and content.
YouTube TV wrote in its email, “We don’t make these decisions lightly, and we realize this has an impact on our members. We are committed to bringing you features that are changing the way we watch live TV, like unlimited DVR storage and multiview*, and supporting YouTube TV’s breadth of content and vast on-demand library of movies and shows.”
Once the new rate is in effect, YouTube TV’s subscription cost will have risen by 137% from when it was first launched in 2017 at $34.99 per month. Despite the price hike, subscribers can still pause or cancel their memberships at any time, providing flexibility.
