The penultimate episode of MobLand hinted at who the rat of the Harrigan family was, and it could be Lisa Dwan’s O’Hara Delaney. Previously, Harry (Tom Hardy) learned about one member of Harrigan’s business working with the Mexicans on a “fire” (fentanyl) deal, without Conrad’s knowledge.
After learning the identity of the “rat,” the official fixer of the Harrigan family kills Freddie, the informant. Meanwhile, Harry has not disclosed the identity of the rat to anyone, including Conrad.
Is the Harrigans’ lawyer, O’Hara Delaney, the rat in MobLand Episode 9?
In MobLand Episode 9, Harry Da Souza calls lawyer O’Hara Delaney right after Jaime Lopez tells him to “fix” the rat situation inside the Harrigan household. The mole informed the police about Archie’s death. The same person was probably also handling the fentanyl business.
However, in the recent episode, Conrad confronts Maeve about leaking information to the police and to Richie. Meanwhile, Harry calls the Harrigan family’s lawyer, O’Hara Delaney, to fix a meeting right after getting Lopez’s instructions to take care of the rat.
So, it could be O’Hara Delaney who is the rat. In Harry’s call, he informs the lawyer that Lopez has agreed to have a fentanyl deal with the Harrigans. But O’Hara does not seem happy about it.
She tells Tom Hardy‘s character that Archie had the right judgment about “fire.” They should have left Richie to deal with Lopez. The lawyer’s hesitation seemed to be a confirmation that it was she who was getting the benefit of the fentanyl deal, thus making her the “rat.”
Meanwhile, the other characters, including Seraphina, are not completely above suspicion at this point. Some viewers believe that Harry hid all information about the “rat” from Conrad for a personal reason. It could be that someone who is close to Harry is actually dealing with Lopez; hence, he wanted to protect them at any cost.
On the other hand, Maeve and Conrad faced arrests at the end of MobLand Episode 9. So, Harry can actually resolve the rat issue without letting the Harrigan head know at the grand finale.
