Former BU Soccer players reportedly respond to sexual allegations raised by Alex Cooper

TMZ Sports recently obtained a letter, signed by 99 former Boston University Terriers athletes, from a BU Women’s Soccer alumni representative. The letter stated that while they did not seek to “diminish or discredit anyone’s individual experienes,” they felt it was necessary to share their collective experience as a “united group.”

The former athletes state via the letter that they “categorically never felt unsafe” under coach Nancy Feldman’s mentorship. They further claimed that they neither witnessed nor were at risk of experiencing “inappropriate behavior or anything that could be” termed as “sexual harassment.”

The alums claimed that Feldman handled each day “with professionalism” and that she made decisions that were for “the success of the team.” They added that Feldman’s influence continued beyond their collegiate careers and that she “remained an important part of their lives.”

The ex-Boston University Terriers athletes then affirmed their support for Feldman, saying, “We shall stand by her.”

Boston University recently released a statement to NBC News, stressing that they had a “zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment.” However, they did not address Alex Cooper’s allegations.

“We have a robust system of resources, support, and staff dedicated to student wellbeing and a thorough reporting process through our Equal Opportunity Office,” the statement read. “We encourage members of our community to report any concerns, and we remain committed to fostering a safe and secure campus environment for all.”

Cooper revealed in a recent Instagram post that she was prompted to share her story after learning that the sexual harrassment she experienced at Feldman’s hands continued to take place 10 years later under Feldman’s successor and Cooper’s former assistant coach.
