Avatar 3, or Avatar: Fire and Ash, brings forth a larger scale of action and a lot more drama in the latest one from James Cameron. The film premieres on December 19, 2025, in the United States, but has already made its debut in Germany and the Philippines on December 17.

What happens in Avatar: Fire and Ash’s ending?
After a lot of storylines unfold over the three-hour runtime, the finale culminates in a huge battle. The final act of the film sees Jake Sully take up the mantle of Turok Makto in order to unite the various Na’vi clans against the Sky People.
This turns out to be a good move as the Na’vi start winning the battle. But Colonel Quaritch arrives at this moment with his ally Varang. This reinforcement completely sways the tide of the war. Jake and Neytiri end up injured, leaving Lo’ak, Spider, Kiri, and Tuk to fend for themselves.
Kiri, Spider, and Tuk enter the spirit world, where they beg Eywa for help. Eywa ultimately ends up helping them, and the Na’vi ultimately come out on top. The process leaves several others, like Ronal, dead, but the Na’vi end up victorious.
Does Quaritch die in Avatar: Fire and Ash?
While Avatar: Fire and Ash does not explicitly reveal that Quaritch dies at the end of the film, his death is implied in the final moments of the film. In the last battle, Jake fights Quaritch, but both of them pause when Spider needs help. Quaritch jumps in to help Spider, leading Jake to save them both.
As Jake is left at a point of neutrality with Quaritch in a rare instance, Lo’ak, Neytiri, and Tsireya all arrive to help Jake. They start to aim for Quaritch, but Jake stops them. After this faint moment of redemption in Quaritch, the antagonist jumps off the floating island.
