We already knew David Fincher‘s Gone Girl would be opening the 2014 New York Film Festival and that Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu‘s Birdman will be closing it, but today we get a full look at the main line-up for this year’s fest and it features a lot of familiar titles, though it appears Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Inherent Vice is still one their choosing to keep quiet even though it has all but been confirmed.
Most of the recognizable titles playing the fest have already been seen at Cannes and will again be featured Whiplash.
Abel Ferrara‘s Pasolini and Mia Hansen-Løve‘s Eden are two other high profile and anticipated films that will be playing Toronto and you can add Mathieu Amalric‘s The Blue Room, Hong Sang-soo‘s Hill of Freedom, the late Alain Resnais‘ Life of Riley and Asia Argento‘s Asia Argento to that list as well.
It’s a very well put together list of films and following the recent announcement Sony plans on releasing David Ayer‘s Fury on October 17, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see it get a sneak screening at the fest, which runs from September 26 – October 12.
